Armenia to Participate in Global Water Policy Discussions
Armenia has officially become a member of the expert committee of the international platform, the Bled Water Forum. According to the Ministry of Environment, the country will be represented in the committee by Deputy Minister Ara Mkrtchyan, who coordinates several key environmental areas, including the forest sector and the management of hazardous substances, waste, land, and subsoil.
The goal of the Bled Water Forum is to promote the global development of knowledge, standards, and modern approaches regarding high-quality drinking water. The organization brings together specialists from various countries; representatives from the USA, Slovenia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and others have participated in the forum’s discussions in previous years. The European Water Sommeliers program, through which drinking water acquires cultural and scientific dimensions, is also implemented in cooperation with the organization.
Armenia’s membership in this platform is significant as it provides an opportunity to strengthen the exchange of international experience and develop joint initiatives in the fields of drinking water quality, safety, and innovative technologies.
