Armenian drivers protested against Iran’s new decision and blocked the Agarak border checkpoint

Armenian drivers blocked the Agarak border checkpoint, demanding a reduction in diesel fuel prices in Iran.

A regulation was in place for vehicles traveling from Armenia to Iran. The trucks should enter Iran without fuel. They should purchase it locally. Recently, Iran decided to increase diesel fuel prices by 1.5 times. In response, Armenian drivers blocked the border checkpoint, halting traffic.

The drivers are also dissatisfied that the checkpoint passes issued in Iran are only in Persian. And do not have Armenian translations.

Armenian authorities have yet to respond to the situation.
