Armenia is facilitating the entry of Iranian trucks, while Iran is making it more difficult for Armenian trucks to enter

Amendments have been made to the Tax Code, according to which Armenia, based on the principle of reciprocity, will grant road fee exemptions to Iranian trucks.

It is planned that foreign-registered freight vehicles will be exempted from paying road fees when transiting through Armenia to third countries or entering Armenia, also based on the principle of reciprocity.

Negotiations will be held with Iranian partners to create more favorable conditions for carriers under this regulation.

Notably, last evening, Armenian drivers blocked the Agarak border checkpoint, demanding a reduction in diesel fuel prices in Iran.

A regulation has been in place requiring trucks entering Iran from Armenia. They should do so without fuel. So, the drivers should purchase fuel within Iran. Recently, Iran decided to increase diesel fuel prices by 1.5 times. As a result, Armenian drivers blocked the border checkpoint, halting traffic.
