Animal husbandry continues to lead in agricultural production
In 2023, a chart of Armenia’s agricultural gross production structure shows that agriculture is primarily focused on animal-based products.
According to official data, meat and dairy products rank first and second, respectively. In 2023, the gross meat production accounted for 30.5% of the total, while milk accounted for 11.4%. This highlights that animal husbandry remains the driving force of Armenia’s agriculture.
The following positions are held by vegetables. In the first half of 2024, Armenia exported 62,000 tons of fresh fruits, vegetables, and greenhouse flowers, which is 10,000 tons more than the figures for 2023.
However, potato production continues to surpass grain production. Armenia primarily imports its grain reserves from Russia.
