A 0% customs duty will be set for the import of electric vehicles

At the government meeting on November 28, it was decided that in 2025, no customs duty will be imposed on the import of 8,000 electric vehicles. Of the mentioned quantity, 5,000 vehicles are intended for individuals, and 3,000 for entrepreneurs and legal entities.

However, the law stipulates that the buyers of the vehicles, whether individuals or legal entities, must not have a dealership-distributor agreement with the car manufacturer, nor should they have a document confirming the obligation to provide factory warranty service and post-warranty technical service provided by the manufacturer.

The preferential tariff period for the import of electric vehicles in 2024 will expire on December 31. The draft was developed by the Ministry of Economy.
