Armenian Students Achieve Success at International Robotics Competition
Vanik Manukyan and Onik Hakobyan, students from the “Armath” engineering laboratories of the Gavar city Senior School and Papin Ghandilyan Secondary School No. 2 in the Gegharkunik Province, took second place in the prestigious “FIRST Global” international robotics championship held in Panama.
192 teams from 182 countries participated in the competition.
“FIRST Global” is one of the most authoritative international tournaments in the field of robotics and engineering. This year’s theme was the solution of environmental problems through robots, where participants presented the robots they created, aimed at the protection of the planet.
The coach-mentor of the Armenian team was Erik Mirzoyan. The team also included Davit Ghazaryan, a student from the “Armath” laboratory of the Dvin Secondary School, and Mari Ohanyan, a student from school No. 131 in Yerevan.
