Construction work continues at the Genocide Memorial Complex
The large-scale renovation and improvement works on the territory of the Genocide Memorial Complex are ongoing. To familiarize herself with the progress, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (ESCS) of the Republic of Armenia (RA), Zhanna Andreasyan, visited the complex along with Hasmik Hakobyan, the Secretary General of the ESCS Ministry.
The Minister was presented with the work that has been carried out and the details of the upcoming phases. Andreasyan emphasized that the work must be implemented in accordance with the project requirements, maintaining high standards of construction quality.
The construction work, which started at the memorial in August, has become a subject of heated discussion, with many accusing the authorities of demolishing the complex. Minister Andreasyan had clarified that since the construction of the memorial nearly 60 years ago, no repairs had been carried out, and serious problems related to the drainage system had emerged. According to the project, the work should be completed within 300 days, with a total cost of about 800 million drams.
