In November, approximately 153 thousand tourists visited Armenia
According to the Tourism Committee, 152,976 tourists visited Armenia in November. This figure represents an increase of about 2% compared to November of the previous year (150,000). However, compared to last year, there has been a decline in tourist visits this year. In total, by the end of November 2024, around 2.08 million tourists have visited Armenia.
In November 2024, the highest number of tourist visits to Armenia came from Russia (43%), Georgia (12%), and Iran (8%).
In total, during the period from January to October 2024, citizens of the mentioned countries made up a significant portion of the tourists visiting Armenia. The data provided by the Committee reveals that among them, the largest group is people aged 25-44 (43%), with men dominating this category.
To increase the number of tourists, plans are in place to allocate 100 million AMD for building clusters in the regions.
The growth of tourism has a significant impact on the country’s economy by boosting local businesses and services. Hotels, restaurants, transportation companies, and many small shops operate primarily through the services they offer to tourists.
