Bacteria Discovered in Baby Formula; Doctors Respond

Nestlé has recalled the batch L-51520346AC of NAN EXPERT Pro Lactose-Free infant formula from the European market. It is reported that dangerous bacteria were found in it. The expiration date for the product in the specified batch is valid until June 2027. It was sold in 400-gram packaging.

This information has been circulating on the social media pages of a number of Armenian doctors since yesterday, as the product could also have been used in Armenia.

Doctors warn that parents who have purchased the formula from the questionable batch should immediately stop using it and refrain from giving it to the child. The bacterium Cronobacter spp. is a rare bacterium. It can cause sepsis, meningitis, and necrotizing enterocolitis in newborns, with fatal consequences in some cases.

Nestlé also notes that packages from the dangerous batch should be destroyed, and consumers should contact the seller or the company for additional information.
