Violations Found Among 13 Tomato Paste Producers: CPC

During an annual summary press conference, Gegham Gevorgyan, Chairperson of the Competition Protection Commission, addressed issues of unfair competition and presented the results of inspections conducted in 2024. According to the chairperson, the commission carried out inspections in the tomato paste industry. Products from more than 20 producers were examined to determine their compliance with regulations. Specifically, the quantities of dry matter, sugar, salt, chlorides, and other components in the tomato paste were tested.

It should be noted that as a result of the inspections, 12 administrative cases were initiated. Of these, 10 resulted in measures being taken against the respondents for manifestations of unfair competition that misled the public, while 2 cases are still under review. Violations were found in products from the brands “MAR FOOD,” “Домашние секреты,” “AS FOOD,” “MAYRIK FOOD,” “MG FOOD,” “Эко Солт,” “RAGMAK,” “Сеньор Помидор,” “SHAPARAK,” “VILFOOD,” “Green Land,” and “Кубанские просторы.”

A special regulation for these products was established in 2011 during the Customs Union Commission. This is known as the “Technical Regulation on Food Safety” of the Customs Union.
