Respiratory infections continue to rise; most cases are among minors

In the Republic of Armenia, the active registration of acute respiratory infections continued during the 47th week. According to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the incidence rate increased 1.2 times compared to the previous week.

80% of total cases are in the 0-18 age group. In the Republic of Armenia, influenza A H3N2 subtype pathogens, as well as rhinoviruses, bocaviruses, adenoviruses, and parainfluenza pathogens, are circulating.

It should be noted that to prevent seasonal epidemics in preschool and general education institutions, an “epidemiological filter” system has been introduced: if the given indicator is exceeded, the school or educational institution switches to distance learning – home classes.

As of November 28, out of a total of 55,635 absences, 8,064 are absent due to acute respiratory infections, which constitutes 14.4% of total absences.
