Rules for medical examination and use of funds changed for social package beneficiaries

Starting from January 1, 2026, the requirement to undergo a mandatory preventive medical examination has been removed for social package beneficiaries. This was reported by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia.

Under the new regulation, a social package beneficiary can, based on their own application to the employer, direct their package funds, including the monthly allocated amount, towards the payment of the fee set for Universal Health Insurance.

At the same time, the beneficiary has the opportunity to use social package funds to pay the insurance premium for an affiliated person: a parent, spouse, child, adopter, adopted child, guardian, or ward.

It has also been established that after the end of each year, the beneficiary can cash out the funds available in the social package account, taking into account the total amount of insurance premiums transferred to the insurance fund during that year. It is noted that the requirement to undergo a mandatory medical examination to cash out accumulated funds is no longer in effect.
