Social benefit offer circulating on TikTok is a scam

The Police warn of a new scam spreading on the “TikTok” social platform.

The goal is to get users to follow suspicious links and provide their personal and banking information, allegedly to receive a benefit of 300,000 AMD from a “social fund.”

According to the Cyberpolice of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), in this way, criminals attempt to obtain card numbers, PINs, CVV codes, and one-time passwords (OTPs), which can lead to the theft of citizens’ funds.

For this reason, citizens are urged not to follow suspicious links and not to fill in any personal or banking data requested in such “applications.”

Furthermore, the Cyberpolice remind that state and social bodies of the Republic of Armenia do not collect personal or banking data of citizens through social networks and only use Armenian “.am” domain names, such as mlsa.am, socservice.am, mia.gov.am, moh.am, e-request.am.
