Mikayel Ajapahyan’s detention replaced by house arrest

The Court of Appeal published today the decision regarding the defense’s motion to lift the detention of Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan.

By the court’s decision, his health condition, the upcoming second surgery, as well as the potential risks associated with returning to a penitentiary institution after the operation, were taken into account.

As a reminder, Ajapahyan’s lawyers have filed an application with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) regarding the violation of rights guaranteed by the European Convention on Human Rights.
