Charity prohibited from the moment elections are scheduled
Ahead of the early elections to the National Assembly, the Anti-Corruption Committee reminds that from the day elections are scheduled until the conclusion of the National Assembly elections, it is prohibited for candidates, members of parties or alliances of parties, as well as their authorized or proxy persons, to provide voters with any property, provide services, or promise such actions free of charge or on privileged terms; such actions entail criminal liability.
The prohibition also applies to carrying out pre-election campaigning under the guise of charity.
The Committee states that within the scope of its powers, it carries out monitoring and supervision of the electoral process, urging all subjects to strictly observe the requirements of the law.
It should be recalled that, according to the decree signed by President Vahagn Khachaturyan, the National Assembly elections will be held on June 7.
