“Oshakantsi Gevorik” Arrested
According to law enforcement agencies, an individual with the highest status in the criminal hierarchy (“Oshakantsi Gevorik,” i.e., Gevorg Melikyan), guided by the interpersonal hierarchical relations operating within the group, demanded 250,000 US dollars from RA citizen H.M. The victim’s sister attempted to resolve the issue by approaching another individual with high status in the same subculture, S.H. As a result, an agreement was reached, and the victim transferred 25 million 522 thousand 200 Drams—which equals 66,000 US dollars.
G.M. and S.H. have been charged with giving or obtaining the highest status in the criminal hierarchy and establishing or leading a group carrying the criminal subculture. G.M. has been arrested, and a detention decision was made regarding S.H. for the purpose of presenting him to the court.
It should be recalled that it became known a few days ago that conscript S.M. evaded military service using false data. The latter, as it turned out, is Gevorg Melikyan’s son.
