Materials of the criminal proceedings against Seyran Ohanyan’s wife are in court

The prosecutor has submitted the materials of the criminal proceedings against R. Kh., the wife of former Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan, as well as K. M. and A. B. (the daughter of R. Kh.’s sister), to the court along with the indictment.

As a result of investigations conducted by the Department for Asset Recovery of Illicit Origin of the Prosecutor General’s Office, it was revealed that several properties belonging to former Minister Seyran Ohanyan and having illicit origin were formally registered in the names of his wife and his sister’s daughter—specifically, two real estate properties located on Nalbandyan Street in Yerevan.

Based on court decisions, preliminary security measures and alienation restrictions had been applied to the aforementioned properties; however, R. Kh. and K. M., with the intent to submit them to a civil court, falsified property purchase and sale agreements, formally alienating them. By a verdict dated April 27, 2023, the ownership right of K. M. over the said properties was recognized.

Furthermore, during her tenure, R. Kh. concealed data regarding the two real estate properties in her declarations, which led to the non-declaration of properties on a particularly large scale.

Corresponding charges have been filed against R. Kh. for falsifying evidence, organizing illegal actions regarding property under seizure, and concealing data subject to declaration; against A. B. for falsifying evidence and carrying out illegal actions regarding property under seizure; and against K. M. for aiding in illegal actions regarding property under seizure.
