Co-authors of “Imnemnimi” Show Remanded in Custody for Two Months

The Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan city, presided over by Judge Masis Melkonyan, has decided to remand Narek Samsonyan, founder of “Antifake” and co-author of the “Imnemnimi” show, in custody for 2 months. The case was examined under the Criminal Code article on “Hooliganism using means of communication.”

By the decision of the Criminal Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan city, Vazgen Saghatelyan, also a co-author of the “Imnemnimi” show, was remanded in custody for 2 months. The proceedings against him are also being conducted under the same article.

It was previously known that the Speaker of the RA National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, had filed a civil lawsuit against Vazgen Saghatelyan, demanding 2,000,000 AMD in compensation for the insult contained in the publications, as well as 530,000 AMD for court costs.

It should be recalled that on the morning of November 13, masked law enforcement officers entered the apartments of Narek Samsonyan and Vazgen Saghatelyan and arrested them. On the same day, searches were conducted at the “Antifake” office, where all equipment was confiscated. The criminal proceedings against Samsonyan and Saghatelyan were initiated based on their response to statements addressed to the Speaker of the RA National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, after which a motion for their detention was submitted.
