Buyers complain: Stores refuse to accept returns without justification

In recent days, buyers have reported cases where several stores rejected requests for product returns. A customer at the Tashir shopping center noted that they purchased a coat three days ago, but the return was not processed.

The buyer stated that they purchased the coat three days ago, but the store refused to take it back, citing the reason that “the director is not present” and they cannot process a return without the director. The buyer was also not provided with a purchase receipt (check), which is one of the mandatory obligations of the seller.

However, according to the law, the director’s absence cannot be a justification for refusal, as the return procedure must operate regardless of which employee is present at the moment. The Law on Protection of Consumer Rights stipulates that the seller is obliged to provide a receipt or other document, and certain goods are subject to return within a 14-day period.

Given that today is Sunday, the customer was unable to contact the State Revenue Committee (SRC).

After the customer contacted us, the employees promised to find a possible solution.
