Searches Underway in Vagharshapat Community

Searches were conducted on November 17 of this year in the homes of representatives of the “Haghtanak” (Victory) alliance in the Vagharshapat community.

Hrant Avetisyan, a representative of the alliance, reported that law enforcement officers entered the apartments of four people who are candidates for the Council of Elders: two people from Vagharshapat and two people from the Haytagh community.

The Anti-Corruption Committee responded by clarifying that evidentiary and other procedural actions are being carried out within the framework of criminal proceedings. However, they did not disclose details.

Sevak Khachatryan, who headed the list of the “Haghtanak” alliance in the Vagharshapat local self-government (LSG) elections, also confirmed the information. It is still unknown what criminal proceedings the searches are being conducted within the scope of and whether they are related to the LSG electoral processes.

Yesterday, on November 16, the “Haghtanak” alliance placed second in the elections for the Council of Elders and community head in Vagharshapat, yielding to the CP (Civil Contract) party.
