Former Official of RA Cadastre Accused of Embezzlement on a Particularly Large Scale

The Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia has completed the criminal proceedings against G. M. The preliminary investigation revealed that in 2021, while holding various positions at the Cadastre Committee, he embezzled a 256.3 square meter non-residential property located in the center of Yerevan, with a market value of approximately 59 million Drams, through fraud. Individuals who assisted G. M. registered the property under the names of various people through sham transactions to conceal its true ownership.

Using the same method, G. M. and H. A. embezzled another real estate property—a communal land plot valued at approximately 52 million Drams, for which false cadastral documents were prepared.

G. M. and H. A. have been charged with embezzlement on a particularly large scale, while two individuals who assisted G. M. have been charged with money laundering and criminal assistance. The amount of damage, exceeding 110 million Drams, is secured by the attachment of real estate properties.

The preliminary investigation has been completed, and the materials, along with the indictment, have been sent to court.
