Artur Sargsyan’s preventive measure has been changed
The preventive measure of Artur Sargsyan, a Member of Parliament (MP) from the “Hayastan” (Armenia) faction of the NA of the RA and a detainee in the “Holy Struggle” case, has been changed. This was reported by his defense lawyer, Aram Vardevanyan.
The Criminal Court of Appeal, headed by Judge Mkhitar Papoyan, satisfied the appeal for special review presented against the decision to extend Sargsyan’s detention. With this change, house arrest and a bail of 20 million drams will be applied to Artur Sargsyan.
The MP had been detained since July 9. It should be noted that a number of participants and leaders of the “Holy Struggle” movement are accused of carrying out terrorist acts and actions aimed at seizing power.
A similar decision was previously made regarding Lidia Mantashyan. Her three-month detention was replaced with administrative supervision and 2.5 million drams in bail.
