Official sold Ministry of Defense equipment

According to the Anti-Corruption Committee, an official who served in two different military units of the Ministry of Defense (MoD) embezzled 37 thermal imaging devices entrusted to him in 2024, valued at approximately 160 million AMD. He then sold them to a resident of Yerevan at prices ten times lower than their market value, ranging from 50,000 to 450,000 AMD each.

Additionally, it was revealed that he forged documents regarding the handover of the devices. Detention has been selected as the preventive measure against him. The buyer of the thermal imaging devices has also been charged.

The MoD has urged citizens who have information about thermal sights acquired under suspicious circumstances to contact the Anti-Corruption Committee.
