Intoxicated driver attempting to bribe police arrested in Yerevan

On January 14, officers of the Yerevan Patrol Service stopped a “KIA” vehicle on Tamantsiner Street in the capital for inspection. During the check, it was revealed that the 56-year-old driver was intoxicated.

Due to the violation, a protocol was to be drawn up for the deprivation of the right to drive a transport vehicle for a period of one year, and the vehicle was to be moved to an impound lot. However, in response, the resident of Yeghvard attempted to offer a bribe to the patrol officers to avoid the recording of the violation, initially offering 40,000 AMD and subsequently 150,000 AMD.

The driver was arrested and taken to the Shengavit Division of the Community Police; the documents have been submitted to the Anti-Corruption Committee.
