MoD to Offer Jobs to Servicemen with Disabilities, While Reserve Officers May Return to Service
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) of the Republic of Armenia (RA) plans to offer employment to servicemen who acquired a disability during their service. The work will not be directly related to military service but will allow for the utilization of their experience and professional knowledge.
RA Defense Minister Suren Papikyan stated this while answering citizens’ questions on Public Television.
“Today, we have an opportunity for citizens with disabilities who possess certain military knowledge. They can be employed, for example, in military commissariats,” the Minister noted, emphasizing that the initiative will help solve their social problems and improve their quality of life.
Artem Mehrabyan, a member of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Defense and Security, in turn, noted that servicemen with varying degrees of disability can also be employed in military-industrial enterprises.
The Ministry of Defense reports that reserve officers may also return to service in military units designated by the order of the MoD Minister. Simultaneously, they will retain the right to receive their military pension.
