Criminal proceedings initiated into the beating of a serviceman
Criminal proceedings have been initiated regarding the brutal beating of a contract serviceman in the area adjacent to a Ministry of Defense military unit located in the Nubarashen administrative district of Yerevan.
According to the spokesperson of the Investigative Committee, proceedings have been launched at the Yerevan City Investigative Department on the account of causing severe damage to health, and a preliminary investigation is underway.
The incident took place on February 5, at approximately 20:30. The serviceman was beaten by a group and transported to the “Muratsan” Military Hospital in extremely critical condition. He sustained severe injuries to the face and eye area.
Materials regarding the case were initially prepared by the Military Police and subsequently transferred to the investigative body.
The injured serviceman is a 24-year-old resident of the Kotayk province and serves in the Nubarashen military unit.
