The Governor of Shirak Province has resigned
During the December 12 government meeting, Nikol Pashinyan announced that Shirak Governor Mushegh Muradyan had submitted his resignation. Since 2018, Shirak Province has seen a total of 5 governors change.
Pashinyan thanked Muradyan for his work as governor and wished him success, expressing hope for future cooperation and opportunities.
The reasons for the resignation were not disclosed. However, during the November 28 government meeting, Nikol Pashinyan had strongly reprimanded Muradyan and General Grigoryan for naming a classroom in one of Shirak’s schools after the general.
Muradyan was appointed governor of Shirak on January 23, 2023, replacing Nazeli Baghdasaryan.
Media reports suggest that Davit Arushanyan might be appointed as the new governor of Shirak. Arushanyan had also participated in the primaries for the mayoral elections, securing second place.
