Demarcation to Continue Near the Armenia-Georgia-Azerbaijan Border Crossing Point: Pashinyan
On January 30, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in Armenia. The two leaders held a private conversation, followed by the 14th session of the Armenia-Georgia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, chaired by them. Various sectoral issues were discussed, with a key focus on agreements related to border demarcation. Pashinyan announced that an agreement had been reached with Azerbaijan to continue the demarcation process near the Armenia-Georgia-Azerbaijan interstate border crossing point.
I emphasized the importance of ensuring inclusivity in regional and extraregional projects. In this context, we highlight Armenia’s interest and readiness to join the ‘Black Sea Electric Cable’ project. From January to November 2024, our trade turnover has slightly decreased, according to our statistical data, as our statistical methodologies differ somewhat. However, I hope that through consistent work, it will be possible not only to return to previous levels but also to achieve progress, which remains a key topic in our ongoing discussions, – Pashinyan stated.
For his part, the Georgian Prime Minister noted an increase in the number of investors from Armenia.
The Georgian government continues to improve the business and investment environment effectively. I am very pleased that Georgia is an attractive country for Armenian investments. I must say that Armenian investments have increased by about 40%, and I will do everything to make Georgia even more attractive for business and investment.
Earlier, it was announced that a Georgian delegation, led by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, would be visiting Armenia on a working visit. A few hours ago, the foreign ministers of the two countries also held a meeting.
It is worth recalling that on January 26, 2024, Armenia and Georgia signed a joint declaration on establishing a strategic partnership.
