Armenia and the US Expand Cooperation
Deputy Ministers of Internal Affairs (IA) Armen Ghazaryan and Director of the Rescue Service Kamo Tsutsulyan received the delegation led by Chris McKinney, Deputy Chief of the Military Planning Division of the US European Command (EUCOM) and an expert on security cooperation, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), and counter-proliferation issues.
Ghazaryan emphasized that the joint programs have received a positive response. The Director of the Rescue Service presented the programs being implemented within the framework of reforms and underlined the importance of cooperation with international partners. The Rescue Service conducts training sessions, practical exercises, and complex drills in accordance with international standards.
Chris McKinney, in turn, expressed readiness to continue the cooperation in the field of civil security with renewed momentum. The members of the delegation were introduced to the technical equipment used by the Rescue Service, particularly the decontamination gear, reconnaissance devices, respiratory apparatuses, and transport vehicles.
