Sit-in in front of the Iranian Embassy; protesters prevented from marching

Seven citizens were subjected to administrative arrest during a protest held today in front of the Iranian Embassy. This was reported by Narek Sargsyan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

According to him, the participants of the action attempted to conduct an unauthorized march, as a result of which the police prevented the march from taking place. Seven individuals were arrested for failing to comply with the legal demand of a police officer.

The participants of the protest are expressing their dissatisfaction with the killings of protesters in Iran and the actions of the authorities.

They intended to march to the Blue Mosque, but amid the police prohibition, they began a sit-in in front of the embassy.

Iranian authorities have announced that at least 3,000 people have been arrested during the anti-government protests.

According to international media reports, on Friday, the streets of the capital Tehran and other regions of the country were relatively peaceful amid the presence of security forces.
