The date for the National Assembly elections has been announced

The regular election of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia will be held on June 7, 2026. This was reported by the Press Service of the President of the RA, noting that President Vahagn Khachaturyan has signed the corresponding decree.

According to the document, the decree comes into force on the day following its official publication.

The decree states that the decision was adopted based on Part 1 of Article 91 and Article 93 of the Constitution, as well as Part 2 of Article 103 of the Constitutional Law “Electoral Code of the Republic of Armenia.”

The second President of the RA, Robert Kocharyan, former Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan with the “Wings of Unity” initiative, the “Our Way” (Mer Dzevov) movement—whose ideological leader Samvel Karapetyan is under arrest—former Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan with the “New Power” (Nor Uzh) party, as well as the Armenian National Congress (ANC), whose prime ministerial candidate is Levon Zurabyan, have already announced their participation in the upcoming elections.
