6 persons arrested: petitions for detention to be submitted
The Investigative Committee of the RA reports that criminal prosecution has been initiated against 7 members of the “Haghtanak” (Victory) alliance and their supporters on charges of obstructing the right to vote. Six of them have been arrested and will be brought before the court with petitions to select detention as a preventive measure.
According to the Investigative Committee, during the local self-government elections held in Vagharshapat on November 16, 2025, individuals included in the alliance’s electoral list and their supporters directed a number of citizens to vote in favor of the alliance, which hindered the free exercise of the latter’s personal electoral rights. The proceedings were initiated under Article 210, Part 2, Clause 6 of the Criminal Code.
It is noted that searches were conducted in the homes and adjacent structures of the arrestees, during which documents significant to the criminal proceedings were discovered.
Earlier, Sevak Khachatryan, the head of the “Haghtanak” faction of the Vagharshapat City Council, stated on social media that repressions are being carried out against individuals with opposition views and that the number of arrests reaches dozens.
