The Minister of the Supreme Judicial Council has resigned
The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Karen Andreasyan, announced his resignation in a post on his Facebook page. He was elected as the President of the Supreme Judicial Council on October 7, 2022.
I want to get ahead of the circulating rumors about dismissals. I am stepping down from both the presidency and membership of the Supreme Judicial Council. On the surface, everything seems clear, but I do not wish to disclose the deeper reasons. Whatever I say will be interpreted in a thousand ways, and many false theories will emerge. I have already experienced this before. Instead, allow me, perhaps immodestly, to say that I have brought the judicial system out of a disgraceful crisis. Those within the system know this and will likely acknowledge it, – Andreasyan stated.
What did Andreasyan mean by the “circulating rumors about dismissals. Yesterday, the media reported that the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, Argishti Kyaramyan, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vahe Ghazaryan, the Head of the Anti-Corruption Committee, Sasun Khachatryan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan, and the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, Rustam Badasyan, are expected to resign․ The government has not yet responded.
