Kim Jong Un Threatens to Use Nuclear Weapons in Case of Attack

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has declared that his country will “without hesitation” use nuclear weapons if South Korea and its ally, the United States, attack North Korea, according to North Korean state media.

Relations between the two Koreas are at their lowest point in decades. This week, Seoul held a military parade showcasing its bunker-busting “Monster” missile. South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol warned Kim that the use of nuclear weapons would signify the end of his regime.

Kim stated that Seoul and Washington are the ones “destroying regional security and peace,” as reported by KCNA.

During an event celebrating South Korea’s Armed Forces Day, Yoon emphasized that any attempt by the North to use nuclear weapons would be met with a firm and decisive response from the U.S.-Republic of Korea alliance.
