First Prayer Breakfast held in Armenia: Pashinyan spoke about peace and the spiritual foundations of the state

During the Prayer Breakfast, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed issues of peace, state responsibility, and the role of spiritual values in politics.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan participated in the country’s first Prayer Breakfast, emphasizing that today, the establishment of peace for Armenia has not only a political but also a spiritual meaning. According to the Prime Minister, the state can operate effectively only when there is a clear understanding of integrity and values in its governance.

In his observation, it is necessary to discuss the relationship between the state and God, as this connection shapes the quality of political decisions.

Referring to international experience, Pashinyan recalled that important stages of the peace process have taken place during the intervals of the Prayer Breakfasts held in the United States; this circumstance can also hold symbolic significance in Armenia.

At the end of the event, the Prime Minister thanked the participants, stressing that such meetings provide an opportunity to review the path the state has taken and understand what values the country’s future is being built upon.

The previous day, around 300 guests from Armenia and abroad participated in the event. The Mother See stated that it had no organizational involvement; their participation was limited only to the brief presence of Bishop Daniel. A representative of the “Christian Solidarity” organization voiced concerns regarding the political persecution of clergy.

The Prayer Breakfast was organized by civil society with the support of the Prime Minister.
