The fare of 100 drams for one trip will remain the same until February
At the upcoming session of the Yerevan City Council, the proposal to keep the fare of 100 drams for one trip on buses and the metro until February 1, 2025, will be discussed. However, this will only be valid for electronic payments through Tellcell Wallet, paper QR tickets purchased through payment terminals, and bank cards. This was announced by the press secretary of the Yerevan Mayor, Hayk Kostanyan.
Despite the discussion of this proposal, the packages offered starting January 1 will be available for everyone, including discounts. The price for trolleybuses will also be discussed. Until February 1, 2025, the fare for a single ticket will remain 50 drams.
From January 1, the option of paying with coins will be phased out, and a full transition to electronic payment will take place. This decision is part of the process to make the transition to a unified ticketing system easier for citizens.
Kostanyan added that starting in January, it will also be possible to purchase transportation cards, which will allow users to load their preferred ticket packages. A new website will also be launched. It will offer the possibility to easily and quickly purchase online ticket packages in the preferred option.
The website will also provide the opportunity to buy packages for privileged groups and to familiarize oneself with the groups of people who are entitled to free travel.
