Starting from January 14, it will be possible to purchase transport cards for the unified ticketing system
At the Yerevan City Hall’s operational meeting on January 13, it was announced that starting from January 14, transport cards for the unified ticketing system will also be available for purchase at the metro ticket offices. Purchased cards can be activated on the website transport.yerevan.am. Citizens in privileged groups can visit community halls or TellCell offices to undergo the identification process.
There will be four payment methods for the unified ticketing system: transport card, QR code, mobile app, and bank card.
Transport cards can be purchased from self-service terminals at 10 metro stations (near ticket offices), metro ticket offices (with employee assistance from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM), and city hall information support centers at Republic Square and France Square.
Purchased cards can be activated by visiting the transport.yerevan.am website, via QR code, mobile app (using the TellCell Wallet system), or with a bank card. Armenian bank cards can be used via the NFC system. American Express and MIR cards are not supported.
It should be noted that the unified ticketing system will be launched in Yerevan on February 1. According to the adopted plan, the cost of one ride will be 300 drams. The city hall also offers packages: children under 7 years old, orphaned schoolchildren and students, people with the first or second-degree disability, heroes, parents of four or more children, and those under state care will be able to use public transport for free. In other cases, discounted packages will apply: schoolchildren will receive a 20% discount (7040 drams for a monthly card), pensioners will receive a 30% discount (6160 drams), students will receive a 15% discount (7480 drams), and social welfare recipients will receive a 20% discount (7040 drams).
