Investigative committee conducts search at the Representation of Artsakh

The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia (RA Investigative Committee) conducted a search at the Representation of Artsakh within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated in June. According to defense lawyer Roman Yeritsyan, the proceedings are related to an alleged economic crime. It concerns a loan agreement concluded between a specific legal entity and a bank operating in Armenia, and a cession agreement by an investment fund operating in Artsakh.

“The search was conducted based on a court decision, which also stems from the results of the criminal prosecution carried out against Samvel Karapetyan. We all understand the reason: the prosecutions against the state institutions of Artsakh have been active for a long time, and the parliamentary hearings have become an additional pretext for new searches,” said Artak Beglaryan, Chairman of the “Artsakh” Union, in a conversation with journalists, emphasizing that it is still unclear exactly which documents are being sought.

The day before, parliamentary hearings were held at the Artsakh Representation, where Artsakh figures stated that they did not intend to waive their right to the collective return to Nagorno-Karabakh. The Investigative Committee confirmed the fact of the search, noting that necessary investigative actions are being carried out.
