The cashback for non-cash payments will increase for pensioners and beneficiaries
The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia (RA) reports that starting from January 1, 2026, the amount of cashback for pensioners and beneficiaries making non-cash transactions will increase. While currently up to 12 percent of the transaction amount is returned, the new change will raise this figure up to 20 percent.
As a result of the change, beneficiaries will have the opportunity to increase their monthly pension or benefit by up to 10,000 AMD, instead of the currently operating 6,000 AMD. The Ministry notes that this step aims to stimulate the use of non-cash payments and enhance the effectiveness of social assistance.
According to data presented by the Ministry, as of November 2025, 366,432 citizens benefit from the program. Since the program’s launch, non-cash transactions totaling approximately 327 billion AMD have been made using pension cards, as a result of which around 30 billion AMD has been returned to beneficiaries in the form of cashback.
At the same time, it should be noted that another change is planned in the social payment system starting from April 1, 2026: all state benefits, including pensions and benefits related to the birth of a child, will be exclusively disbursed through non-cash methods.
Currently, about 10 percent of pensioners and beneficiaries continue to receive payments in cash. This concerns approximately 58,000 citizens. Starting from April 1, they will also have the opportunity to switch to non-cash payments and join the cashback program, receiving their pension and benefit via card.
