Yerevan: The Most Expensive City in the South Caucasus for Foreign Workers

Yerevan has been ranked as the most expensive city in the South Caucasus for foreign workers. This is according to a cost-of-living report published by the Mercer consulting firm.

The Armenian capital secured the 115th position globally. Compared to 2023, Yerevan has dropped 15 places but still surpasses other regional capitals. Among neighboring countries, Yerevan leads. Baku ranked 171st, Tbilisi 188th, and Ankara 208th. Tehran was not included in the list.

Globally, the most expensive cities for international assignments are Hong Kong, Singapore, and Zürich. Meanwhile, the least expensive cities for foreign workers are Islamabad (Pakistan), Lagos, and Abuja (both in Nigeria).
