Transportation Prices to be Revised: Mayor Tigran Avinyan Proposes New Changes
Yerevan’s Mayor, Tigran Avinyan, announced that recent feedback and suggestions regarding the new fares for unified ticket packages have been carefully reviewed, he stated that the following changes will be proposed at the city council meeting on February 11:
For 10 trips, the fare will be 2000 dram, valid for 45 days, replacing the current 2200 dram for 30 days. For a single ticket, the fare will be 300 dram, valid for 180 minutes, instead of the current 90 minutes. For a one-day pass, the fare will be 900 dram, offering unlimited trips, replacing the current limit of 8 trips. For a 7-day pass, the fare will be 5000 dram, offering unlimited trips, instead of the current limit of 30 trips.
As of January 1, the following packages are available: For 30 days, 9000 dram for unlimited trips, for 90 days, 24000 dram for unlimited trips, for 365 days, 90000 dram for unlimited trips.
It is important to note that starting February 1, the prices for Yerevan’s public transport tickets will change. The proposed packages are already available for use. However, buses currently still have the same 100 dram fare, and for trolleybuses, the fare remains 50 dram. The city council decided to postpone the price increase by one month in December, explaining that this delay is meant to ease the transition to the unified ticketing system.
