The European Union to Implement Three Programs for Displaced Persons from Artsakh

On January 23, 2025, the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Armenia announced the launch of three new programs aimed at the socio-economic inclusion, integration, and protection of the fundamental rights of refugees.

These new EU-funded programs offer a comprehensive approach to addressing various needs in multiple sectors:

– “Promoting Sustainable Livelihoods, Entrepreneurship Development, and Employment Opportunities for Displaced Persons and Host Communities”: This program focuses on creating opportunities for economic integration through business initiatives, skills development, and employment support.

– “RISE – Armenia: Recovery, Social Inclusion, and Empowerment of Displaced and Vulnerable Populations”: This initiative aims to strengthen local social protection systems, improve access to and quality of social and rehabilitation services.

– “Human Rights for Refugees and with Refugees”: This program is dedicated to empowering refugees by raising awareness of their rights, addressing existing challenges, and ensuring access to information about their rights and available opportunities.

In 2025, the European Union plans to allocate €25 million in support of individuals forcibly displaced from Artsakh.
