Stepantsminda-Lars highway closed for trucks
The Rescue Service informs that as of 15:26, there are closed and difficult-to-pass roads within the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
In the Aragatsotn region, the roads leading from the “Amberd” high-mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari are closed, as is the Berd-Chambarak highway (due to a blizzard).
The Ttujur-Navur highway is closed for all types of vehicles.
The Noravan-Ltsen-Tatev highway and the Vardenyats Pass are closed for vehicles with trailers.
Black ice is present in sections of the highways in the regions of Aparan, Aragats, Spitak, Tumanyan, Tashir, Sevan, Chambarak, Martuni, Gavar, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Nairi, Vayk, Sisian, Goris, Ashotsk, Amasia, and Vanadzor.
Snow is falling in the Shirak region. Blizzards are observed in the Artik region, on the Kuchak-Mirak road, and on the highway leading from Sevan to the peninsula. It is not snowing in Gyumri.
Drivers are urged to travel exclusively with winter tires.
According to information received from the Emergency Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of North Ossetia of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed for heavy trucks.
