No major influx of vehicles from Iran to Armenia: Consulate’s update

The Consulate General of Iran in Kapan reports that the flow of vehicles from Iran to Armenia is currently within normal limits. Earlier, several embassies had advised their citizens to leave Iran urgently, suggesting transit through the territories of Turkey or Armenia, as Azerbaijan continues to keep its dry land borders closed.

The Consulate noted that there is nothing extraordinary occurring at the border, adding that during this winter season, people typically do not choose land routes due to weather conditions. Consequently, the flow of vehicles has even decreased compared to regular periods.

The Consulate General in Kapan emphasized that they would be the first to receive information if a large number of vehicles began arriving from Iran to Armenia. It is worth recalling that for Armenia, the “Norduz” checkpoint is one of the four land routes available for evacuating citizens of foreign states from Iran.
