
3,611 Artsakh Residents Granted Armenian Citizenship
A total of 113,635 forcibly displaced citizens from Artsakh have received temporary protection certificates. Around 99,000 individuals have completed primary registration. Approximately 5,600 people registered to obtain Armenian citizenship, and 3,611 of them have been granted citizenship. This information was announced by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan during the National Assembly discussion on the “State Budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2025.”
She also mentioned that, due to the introduction of a general registration system in the first nine months of 2024, around 125,000 identification cards have been issued to Armenian citizens. Additionally, 2,859 individuals have renounced their citizenship. The number of people granted Armenian citizenship has decreased by about 7.1 percent.
