Lake Sevan water level remains low

The water level of Lake Sevan continues to remain lower than the figure for the same period last year. This was reported by the “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO.

According to data published by the Center, the level of the lake remained unchanged during the period from January 26 to February 1, 2026. As of February 1, the level of Lake Sevan stood at 1900.23 meters, which is 13 centimeters lower than the figure on the same day last year. At the same time, it is 1 centimeter higher than the level recorded on January 1, 2026.

According to water balance data, 1.001 million cubic meters of water were transferred to Lake Sevan through the Arpa-Sevan aqueduct between January 26 and February 1. From January 1, 2026, to February 1 inclusive, the total volume of water entering the lake through the aqueduct amounted to 4.821 million cubic meters.

As a reminder, at the end of 2025, the “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” reported that the water level of Lake Sevan had decreased by 17 centimeters over the course of the year.
