Pensioners’ bank cards to be delivered to their homes
Around 15,000 pensioners in Armenia have not yet switched to the cashless pension payment system. This was announced by Arsen Torosyan, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the RA, during a government session.
According to the Minister, starting April 1, pensions and benefits throughout the country will be paid exclusively in a cashless manner. On March 5, pensioners will have the opportunity to independently choose a bank for card issuance, after which the selection will be made automatically.
New pension cards will be delivered to the homes of elderly citizens and persons with disabilities. The delivery must be recorded by a social worker.
“New pension cards will be delivered to the homes of elderly pensioners and citizens with disabilities. We are currently discussing delivery options—via courier or a bank employee. However, this delivery must be recorded by a social worker,” noted Torosyan.
The Minister assured that the department is aware of all individuals who are unable to show up in person to collect their cards and is ready to provide them with the service. Cards will also be delivered to citizens over the age of 85, persons with Group I disabilities regardless of age, and citizens aged 75–85 who have Group II disabilities.
It should be noted that according to data from March 2025, there were approximately 650,000 pensioners in Armenia.
