The opposition factions have appealed to the Constitutional Court regarding the accumulated pensions of Artsakh residents
The deputies of the “Armenia” and “I Have The Honor” factions in the National Assembly have appealed to the Constitutional Court to contest the decision that the accumulated funds of Artsakh residents have been transferred to Armenia’s pension system.
In other words, the provision of the law is being contested, which was amended by the National Assembly of Armenia in June 2024 and which provided for the mechanism of transferring the accumulated funds of Artsakh residents to Armenia’s pension system without considering their consent. The appeal argues that this provision contradicts the right to property enshrined in the Constitution. I will provide additional information regarding the further proceedings, – Stepanian wrote.
The appeal has been submitted to the Constitutional Court to determine the compliance of Article 8.1 of the law “On Additional Guarantees for the Protection of the Rights and Legitimate Interests of Participants in the Accumulation Component of the Pension System” with Articles 29, 60 (right to property), 78 (principle of proportionality), and 79 (principle of certainty) of the Constitution.
