Situation in the Middle East discussed in Armenia

A meeting with representatives of competent state agencies was held at the Office of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia to discuss the current situation in the Middle East. The news was published on the official Facebook page of the Security Council Office.

According to the report, a dedicated working group is carrying out activities aimed at managing the potential impact of the situation on Armenia. The specific participants of the meeting were not disclosed.

Based on videos published on social media, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is currently visiting the country’s provinces.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia stated that it is closely monitoring the regional developments. Yerevan has urged Armenian citizens currently in Iran and Israel to adhere to security protocols and follow official instructions.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched strikes against Iran, including the capital, Tehran. U.S. President Donald Trump announced the start of a large-scale operation against Iran, stating that Washington’s objectives are the destruction of Iran’s missile program and the prevention of its nuclear weapons capabilities.

In turn, Iran has announced its intention to launch retaliatory strikes against Israel and target American military bases in the Middle East.
