Vahagn Harutyunyan has been relieved of his duties as Deputy Head of the Food Safety Inspection Body

Vahagn Harutyunyan has been relieved of his duties as Deputy Head of the Food Safety Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia. The decision was signed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Vahagn Harutyunyan had held this position since June 2023. Before that, he served as the Head of the Department of Material and Technical Support and Procurement Coordination at the Judicial Department of the Supreme Judicial Council Staff and as Deputy Head of the Licensing Agency at the Ministry of Finance.

The decision was made in accordance with Article 9, Part 4 of the Law on Public Service of the Republic of Armenia, which states that the Deputy Head of a state body subordinate to the Government is appointed and dismissed by the Prime Minister upon the recommendation of the Head of the respective state body unless otherwise provided by law.

The Prime Minister also acted in accordance with Article 8, Part 4 of the Law on Inspection Bodies of the Republic of Armenia, which stipulates that appointments to leadership positions outlined in the charter of the inspection body are made by the Prime Minister in accordance with civil service legislation.
